What a slow day for a Friday...
The board shop was typically filled with teenage patrons on the weekend, especially fridays, where kids and teens of all ages stocked up on gear and supplies before spending the weekend out on the ramps. But this Friday, for whatever reason, was fairly vacant by comparison. The shop had been empty since four in the afternoon, and now, with closing time approaching quickly, only one person had since entered the store.
The crotchety old man had been searching for a specific type of wheel for his son's skateboard, and made the foolish mistake of asking the young man at the counter, whose bad attitude was notorious all over the city. Now, the two sat arguing over some trivial matter that had nothing to do with the product that needed purchasing, yelling insults and making obscene gestures at one another.
It was enough to make the lycan in the corner sick to her stomach. She sat rigidly in front of the small shop's glass front door, staring harshly out into the fading evening light with her hardened crimson gaze in a vain attempt to make the sun disappear faster. But the argument behind her was distracting and she bristled a little in irritation.
"How dare you-?! Aj, get this creep out of my store!"
Currently hired as a canine bouncer, the shifter in question, disguised as an otherwise well-mannered dog, turned her head slowly to offer both men and heated glare from beneath the shadow of her strangely folded ears. Her shepherd-like jaws parted in a snarl that clearly displayed her standing on the matter at hand.
Both men appeared to get the message and, without doing her required task, Aj nudged the door open with her paws and wandered her way into the street, pausing on the sidewalk to shake out her thick, scruffy brown and tan coat.
Well, to hell with that job...

fly like paper, get high like planes If you catch me at the border I got visas in my name If you come around here, I make 'em all day I get one down in a second if you wait
And there was Becca, lounging as per usual near the board shop, one of her favorite haunts. Scaring the shit out of people as they spotted an unusually large wolf sitting in the middle of the road, fast asleep. Cars swerved out of the way and two accidents had already been cleaned up today. A skateboard was leaning against the wall of the skate shop across the street from Surf And Turf and anyone who went after it had a large white wolf snarling and barking at them.
Becca transformed right as she spotted one of her "followers" AJ coming out of the store in her dog form. She smiled and howled a short bark to AJ,though she was in total human form. She was fluent in Canus in both forms. She walked over to AJ and spoke in a human voice, pretty sure the she-were would understand even in canus form. "Hey,AJ. Would you like to accompany me on border patrol tonight? Wolfgang is out on some business and won't be back for at least a few days. Besides,I don't know you as well as some of my other members and I'd love to get to know you better."Her stern blue gaze softening slightly and a canine grin on her face.
She looked at the setting sun and the moon coming over the mountains, she gave a low, rolling howl as the full moon became visible for the evening. She looked at AJ and hoped the girl would come with her,she grabbed her board,a beautiful custom pink Zooyork board and headed back to AJ's side, ready for the patrol.
She moved a little excitedly, her blue eyes shining with hyperactivity as she bounced on her heels waiting to get started. [/blockquote]

Caught mid-stretch, the golden hued wolfen was a bit of a humorous sight for a moment, her attention split between her sore back and the alphess who called to her from across the street. She paused with her mouth still wide open, her tongue curled in the middle of a wide a yawn, and only one of her deep crimson orbs open, as if she'd just woken up. Her thick tail was curled over her back and forepaws reached along the concrete before her, lit by the receding sunshine, motionless for a moment she spent sort of staring in a bit of unexpected shock.
She had not been expecting another lycan to be roaming the streets at this hour. Usually they don't appear until dark.
After her surprise waned, Aj finished her stretch, returning to an upright stance and rolling her slightly grizzled shoulders until they popped, before finally responding with a gentle wave of her tail.
'Sure, I guess.' she stated, in beast tongue of course, being in her feral form at the time. 'Sounds more interestin' than sittin' at home by myself.'
Looking up to her alphess, the folded-eared wolfen waited for her leader to step ahead first, expecting to follow behind her where followers belong. In the moment's pause, she turned, 'woofing' over her shoulder briefly before falling back into step. From the bushes near the shop, a large black Cane Corso joined them exuberantly, racing toward them with his docked tail wagging before slowing to a walk once he reached the two women. A small tag hanging from his leather collar made the only noise in the otherwise silent night.

I'm gonna fight em all A seven nation army couldn't hold me back They're gonna rip it off Taking their time right behind my back
Becca knew this female, and stood tall showing her dominance over the slightly larger fae. It was her mate who helped protect her from the ruffians, but her mate was currently out on a business trip, trying to find more rogues and loners to fight against the Elderkin. She pondered for a moment on the loyalty of her own pack. When the fight actually came, would they run or fight?
She chuckled softly as the pretty golden werewolf shapeshifter paused in mid stretch. She felt that AJ had more loyalty in one paw than most of her rogues did in their whole body. She waited for the femme's response, leaning against the wall of she shop beside her own body. She saw the wave of AJs tail and knew it as a response to a yes of sorts.
She listened as AJ spoke to her,a few passer-bys glancing at Becca as if she were crazy as she barked back a response. She startled one toddler so bad it began to cry and the mother shouted at her in a mixture of american and some asian, possibly mandrin.
"Of course I knew you'd accompany me. Even rogues and loners still have some loyalty left in them. You especially. I believe you've got more loyalty in one paw then most of the werewolves here have in their whole body." She said with a canine grin and a chuckle.
As they started off Becca slid back into her werewolf form,a very funny sight. Since she was a young werewolf she was a bit smaller than most, but still was twice as large as a normal wolf. And she currently looked like a giant powder puff because her summer coat hadn't shown through her winter one yet. It was an amusing sight,as well, for three dogs,a large almost shepherd looking dog,a white wolf(who could disguise herself as a black german shepherd at will) and a Cane Corso walking down the street.
She headed off towards the southern borders first, towards the LA border, where she hoped she'd meet up with Kolya again. Their last meeting ended in them having an amazing sexual eruption. She slipped into her black German Shepherd form and the Cane Corso whimpered a bit as he followed them, obviously freaked out by the wolf changing infront of his face.
She marked various areas as she went along, she looked at AJ. "So,what made you decide to come to Dogtown?" She barked as she scrutinized the other fae from the corner of her sight. [/blockquote]

Waving her tail in her typical, lazy, almost haphazard manner, Aj parted her jaws in a laid-back but very noticeable panting expression: the wolfen equivalent of some sort of smile. The way she half perked one ear and tilted her head, it was more of a smirk, with a little bit of that cocky attitude she was fairly well known for, adding a little character to it by narrowing one of her dark eyes. It was not often she was complimented for her loyalty, particularly not in response to something so mundane as agreeing to accompany another (if only momentarily) lonely wolfess out on a local patrol.
'Oh, is that so?'
Barking loudly, the tri-colored wolfen paused where she stood, leaning back a little bit to scratch the top of her head with a hind foot briefly. Once finished, she and her canine companion rushed to catch up, if (again) only briefly. They were a bit of a speedy pair.
'Perhaps you've just been dealin' with the wrong kinds of people?'
Following the black shepherd leisurely, Aj passed the time sniffing at random things along her path while they chatted, often drawing her attention to only the most disgusting of things and making a mental list of what smelled the most hideous. She'd later offer such things to her friends and watch them retch and repulse for amusement. She'd only found maybe two items of interest: a small piece of 2 week-old roadkill and a particular pile of trash, when Becca dragged her from her personal scavenger hunt with a question.
Chocolate brown ears flopped in their place as Aj jerked her head up suddenly, listened for a moment, and then shrugged nonchalantly.
'Nothin' specific really. Housing was cheap, lots of labor-type job opportunities in the surroundin' area, got some friends who live locally, you know. A bunch of different things.'
